MISSION

To advance the training of health professionals in the Caribbean and beyond through innovative, technology-driven, and community-focused education, grounded in collaborative, evidence-based research.

We uphold social accountability by aligning our medical education and activities with the health and policy needs of the communities we serve, thereby maximizing our community impact.

Excellence Through Collaboration and Accreditation

Local

Partnerships

We remain deeply engaged with key healthcare and educational stakeholders across the Turks and Caicos Islands. Through ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the TCI Hospital, private sector medical clinics, and the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, we ensure that our medical students benefit from a curriculum that is both enriched and informed by community needs. These partnerships enable early and meaningful clinical exposure, fostering a learning environment that prepares students to deliver responsive, compassionate, and high-quality care from the outset of their medical education.

global

Partnerships

We are committed to delivering excellent medical education through strategic collaborations with renowned universities and healthcare systems worldwide. These global partnerships enrich our learning environment through joint capacity building, collaborative health research, student and faculty exchanges, visiting clinical faculty programs, and clinical placements for senior students. Building on our strong foundation of existing partners, we will continue to expand our global network to advance academic excellence, research, and international engagement.

Accreditation

Progress

We have embarked on our licensing and accreditation journey with the Turks and Caicos Islands Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Advisory Board (HEAB) and the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP). We have obtained a provisional license from HEAB and are actively progressing toward accreditation candidacy with CAAM-HP. Our goal is to achieve initial provisional accreditation prior to the admission of our first medical class, and full accreditation before the graduation of our first cohort of students.
