
Adam Schechter
Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer, Labcorp
Adam Schechter is a distinguished global healthcare executive and the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Labcorp, a world leader in diagnostics and life sciences. Since becoming CEO in 2019 and Chairman in 2020, he has guided the company’s strategic transformation, global expansion, and financial performance while strengthening its role in advancing precision medicine and population health. Mr. Schechter first joined Labcorp’s Board in 2013, serving as Lead Independent Director before assuming the CEO role.
Prior to Labcorp, he spent more than 30 years at Merck & Co., Inc., where he served as Executive Vice President and President of Merck’s Global Human Health Division, overseeing worldwide pharmaceuticals and vaccines and leading large-scale commercial, operational, and financial portfolios across more than 140 countries.
Mr. Schechter’s extensive international corporate network includes leadership and advisory roles with major global health and humanitarian organizations. He serves on the Boards of DaVita Inc., Water.org, and Project HOPE, and previously served on the Boards of EFPIA, the Healthcare Leadership Council, and Merial. His governance expertise spans public companies, global NGOs, and multinational industry coalitions.
A respected leader in corporate finance and organizational governance, Mr. Schechter brings to the Hamilton University Advisory Group deep experience in global strategy, capital allocation, enterprise risk management, and international partnership development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from La Salle University.
