David M. Lang
Emergency Medicine Leader | Medical Director | Clinical Educator
Dr. David M. Lang is a nationally respected emergency medicine physician, medical director, and clinical educator with more than 30 years of service in major academic and community health systems. He currently serves as Medical Director for Quality at the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics (UHealth) and Voluntary Assistant Professor of Surgery and Medical Education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Lang has held multiple senior leadership roles at UHealth, including Clinical Chief and Medical Director of Emergency Medicine, where he directed emergency services, advanced clinical quality programs, and helped modernize departmental operations. He also serves with TeamHealth as Assistant Facility Medical Director and SWAT Reviewer for professional liability, contributing to national standards for clinical review and risk mitigation.
Prior to joining UHealth, Dr. Lang spent 17 years at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he served as Chief and Medical Director of Emergency Medicine, Associate Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency, and Flight Physician for Air Medical Transport Services.
A Fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and the American College of Emergency Physicians, Dr. Lang is recognized for his contributions to physician leadership, emergency care systems, medical education, and clinical governance.
Dr. Lang holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University, graduating with honors, and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine in Chicago
